Originality. A dissertation constitutes your personal academic position, and should therefore by nature be substantially original in order to fulfil its basic requirement. Originality comes in shades and degrees, however, and for an upper 1st mark you must demonstrate in all aspects of your work an original critical stance and unique perspective.

A mark between 40 and 49 provides students with an opportunity to make amendments which would allow a pass mark to be reached. The resident GPA of a student is found by dividing the total number of grade points earned at UW-Eau Claire by the total number of credits attempted. The semester GPA is computed in the same way, using only the grade points earned and the credits attempted during that semester.
